Booboisie completed her second trial at Caulfield this morning, ridden by Damien Oliver. This fitness campaign was all a bit much for her, after having her first barrier trial the week before with Jason Maskiell on board - Booboisie is now ready for a spell.
Booboisie took part in her second jump out here at Caulfield Tuesday morning. We were lucky to be able to secure the services of leading rider Damien Oliver for the trial. The filly jumped well pushed up and took a forward position, she sat third in the sweet seat (one out one back). Coming around the corner Damien asked her for an effort but there was not much forthcoming, she wilted over the last 100m to finish at the tail of the field. While it may seem a disappointing effort Damien was not to concerned highlighting the fact that she is very light behind and still immature.
At this stage if we pushed onto the races we would only dent her confidence and again all be disappopinted with her performance.
Yesterday (Tuesday) morning after her cooldown and photo shoot with the assembled starlets (pictured) Booboisie was sent out to the paddock for a break.
The idea is to give her plenty of time to mature and grow, at present she looks like Justine Henin, what we want is Sirena Williams. Hopefully when she comes back in for her next preparation there will be a lot more junk in the trunk.
